UCSB Study Reveals Mechanism Behind Squids' and Octopuses' Ability to Changes Color

UCSB researchers, including Institute faculty Dan Morse, have discovered the mechanism behind squids and octopuses' ability to change colors. Aside from the possible applications in synthetic camouflage, this finding can have applications for increased energy efficiency in telecommunications.
