Abstract
A fundamental program of research and development to implement direct digital synthesis of optical frequencies in a single integrated chip-scale package. The outcome of this work will be a revolutionary Chip-scale Optical Resonator Enabled Synthesizer (CORES) that provides a laser output with programmable optical frequency resolution of one part in 1014 across 50 nm of bandwidth centered at 1500 nm.
