Divyakant Agrawal's long-term research activities have been in the area of designing and developing innovative solutions, systems, and algorithms for large-scale systems such as databases, transaction processing systems, data warehouses, and digital libraries. His current activities are focused on energy-efficient designs of algorithms and solutions for data-intensive environments, large-scale data management in cloud computing infrastructures, and highly parallel implementations of database and data stream operators leveraging multi-core architectures.
Biography
From August 1979 – December 1979, Agrawal served as Project Assistant in the Department of Electronics in New Delhi, India. In September 1982, he came to the United States and first worked as a Teaching Assistant in the Department of Computer Science at SUNY at Stony Brook. Since July 1998, Agrawal has served as Professor in the Department of Computer Science at University of California at Santa Barbara.
