Postdoctoral Scholar Yating Wan Receives 2021 OSA Tingye Li Prize
The Tingye Li Innovation Prize, established in 2013, honors the global impact Dr. Li made to the field of optics and photonics. This prize will is presented to an early career professional who has demonstrated innovative ideas in their accepted presentation during the Optical Fiber Communication (OFC) Conference. The recipient receives $3,000 prize, an invitation to the OFC Chairs’ Reception and special recognition during the conference.
The prize is part of The Foundation portfolio of recognitions and prizes. It is endowed by Alliance Fiber Optic Products, Inc., AT&T, The Optical Society, IEEE Photonics Society, IEEE Communications Society, Thorlabs, Inc., the Li Family and supporters of the Tingye Li Memorial Fund.
IEE-affiliated Postdoctoral Scholar Yating Wan, advised by Professor John Bowers, has been selected for this award for her paper titled "1.3 µm Regrown Quantum-Dot Distributed Feedback Lasers on (001) Si: A Pathway to Scale Towards 1 Tbit/s," which was presented at the 2021 virtual CLEO Conference.
