Cool Campus Challenge Begins April 1st

The rumors are true - the Cool Campus Challenge is returning to UC Santa Barbara from April 1 - April 26! Designed to motivate individuals who take steps to reduce their carbon footprints, the challenge will help the UC system reach Carbon Neutrality by 2025.

The Challenge will highlight suggested actions that participants can take to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and increase education and mindfulness about climate disruption. Each action earns you and the campus points. Top campuses, teams, and participants are eligible to win awards and recognition.

Students, staff, and faculty can participate in the challenge by signing up as individuals or to start teams. Don’t miss this great opportunity for some friendly competition and to help the environment! Live in campus housing? You can also participate in the campus level competition between the Residential halls and some apartments complexes April 1st - April 26th. Residence halls and apartments complexes will be competing against each other to save the most energy, and the building with the highest percentage reduction in energy used will win. Participating students living in the winning hall will be entered to win amazing prizes.

Don’t forget to share your efforts for each competition on social media using the #CoolCampusChallenge! Preregistration starts March 11th, 2019
