Summit Speaker: William Sisson


Director of Sustainability
United Technologies Corporation

William Sisson is presently the Director, Sustainability for United Technologies Corporation. In 2009, he completed his co-chair responsibilities n the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) Energy Efficiency in Buildings Project. Presently, he serves UTC in a number of strategic sustainability and advocacy capacities including the WBCSD, buildings technology strategy, and implementation of UTC’s building energy efficiency program.

Since 1985, he has worked for UTC in a variety of technical and business leadership positions. Most recently he was Director, Carrier R&D Programs, at United Technologies Research Center, where he was responsible for Carrier’s long range innovation portfolio, with emphasis on energy and environment. Prior, he was Global Product Manager for Carrier’s commercial controls business.

Mr. Sisson is an MIT Sloan Fellow since 1999, where he developed his thesis entitled “Fueling Innovation and Growth Strategies using Corporate Venturing”.

He completed his undergraduate studies at Virginia Tech in Engineering Science and Mechanics, received his MS in Mechanical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and was awarded an MBA from the Sloan School at Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
