With that kind of load, efficiency improvements can have a big impact. Joe Pettus, Senior VP of Fuel and Energy Operations for Safeway, discusses the company's energy efficiency innovations, including a 10% (and counting) reduction in the company's carbon footprint and alternative energy sources such as wind power and fuel cells.
