Associated Press News recently posted an article regarding the Department of Energy's new energy efficiency standards for light bulbs. These new rules prohibit the manufacture, sale, and import of bulbs that are unable to meet the new requirements, such as incandescent and halogen bulbs. Replacing these less efficient bulbs with LED bulbs increases energy efficiency since LED bulbs use up to 90% less energy than incandescent bulbs, and can last up to 25 times longer.
