Biography: 

John MacFarlane is the founder and CEO of Sonos, a wireless multi-room music system enabling users to play music anywhere in the house and control it using a smartphone. Prior to Sonos, MacFarlane founded and was the CEO of Software.com, which merged with Phone.com in 2000 to create Openwave.

MacFarlane holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical and electronics engineering from the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a master’s degree in electrical and electronics engineering from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
