Rechargeable batteries
Wildcat Discovery Technologies' combinatorial chemistry tools give the company the capability to rapidly synthesize inorganic materials. A recent synthesis lead to the discovery of a new rechargeable battery material, which they claim can improve battery performance by 25 to 65 percent.

Xerox's Palo Alto Research Center has developed a new printing technology that promises to pack more energy into batteries for electric vehicles: the technology could increase battery storage capacity by 10 to 30 percent.

Contour Energy Systems will soon release fluorine batteries that have the potential to perform two to three times times more effectively than lithium batteries. The company has found a way to keep the energy density high while cranking up the power density.
