The next generation of the Chevrolet Volt could have a much cheaper battery.
For the next generation of its Chevrolet Volt, GM has licensed mixed-metal oxide battery-electrode materials developed at Argonne National Laboratory, a U.S. Department of Energy Lab. These materials could help double car batteries' energy-storage capacity.
