Southwest Airlines
Southwest Airlines has unveiled a new set of guidelines for flight paths and landings that has resulted in fuel efficiency gains of 5 to 15 percent per flight. The new guidelines, called Required Navigation Performance (RNP), could be introduced to all airports and airlines in the coming years.

Nissan has unveiled a new gas pedal that uses resistance to discourage drivers from pressing the pedal to the metal. The new system is also available to other car manufacturers and could improve fuel efficiency by five to ten percent.

The EPA has released a fuel efficiency standards proposal for heavy-duty vehicles. It covers heavy-duty trucks, tractors and semi trucks and the improved standards could reduce GHG emissions by ~250 million metric tons and save 500 million barrels of oil within the program's first five years.
