DOE Announces Building Energy Efficiency Investments in Twenty-Two States
The U.S. Department of Energy awarded 22 states and territories $14 million to install energy-efficient upgrades to their buildings. The money saved by reducing building energy costs will be transferred directly to taxpayers.

Energy Dept. to Give Loan Guarantee to Calif. Solar Company in City Hit by Auto Plant Closing
The Department of Energy gave a loan guarantee to a California company to build a solar manufacturing plant in an area where an auto plant recently closed. The panels built at the plant would be able to supply energy for 24,000 homes a year.
