Americold storage
Digital Lumens' LED Lighting Systems--which save up to 90 percent of lighting energy--have been installed in Americold facilities in three states.The fixtures also reduce AC and chiller power consumption in cold storage warehouses by 20-40 percent by eliminating heat transfer to chilled food.

Cree TrueWhite LED bulb
Cree recently announced a new product: the TrueWhite LED bulb, which will provide 800 lumens of light (equivalent to the light output of a standard 60 watt incandescent bulb), use only 10 watts, and likely last over 25,000 hours.

European researchers examined the entire production-to-disposal life-cycle of different lighting methods to find out which is most efficient. Compact fluorescent lamps (CFLs) came out on top, although LEDs were notably absent from the study.
