New bulbs created by Vu1 Corporation that use electron stimulated luminescence are cheaper than LEDs and 70% more efficient than incandescent bulbs.

white light LED
Startup EcoSpark believes it can produce a white light LED using zinc oxide. Unlike blue, gallium nitride LEDs, EcoSpark's bulb doesn't require any phosphorus coating to achieve white light, making the device cheaper and more efficient.
