Americold storage
Digital Lumens' LED Lighting Systems--which save up to 90 percent of lighting energy--have been installed in Americold facilities in three states.The fixtures also reduce AC and chiller power consumption in cold storage warehouses by 20-40 percent by eliminating heat transfer to chilled food.

Soraa thinks it can make LEDs cheap enough to replace regular bulbs. The company was founded by Institute faculty Dr. Shuji Nakamura, Dr. Steven DenBaars, and Dr. James Speck.

At the Light Fair conference, General Electric introduced a LED light bulb that "breathes." The companies, GE and Nuventix, developed "synthetic jet cooling technology." This means that the LED has a diaphragm embedded in the bulb that vibrates and helps keep the bulb cool.
