After months of anticipation, the EPA has finally released its Energy Star label for data centers. The label should incite competition for energy efficiency improvements, as the agency plans to award the label to only the top 25% of centers in a given industry.

The EPA has released a fuel efficiency standards proposal for heavy-duty vehicles. It covers heavy-duty trucks, tractors and semi trucks and the improved standards could reduce GHG emissions by ~250 million metric tons and save 500 million barrels of oil within the program's first five years.
