LeeAnne French is the Director of Programs at NCEAS. She joined the organization in 2013 to work with the executive team to transition NCEAS into a synthesis center focused on the most challenging issues at the intersection of nature conservation and human well-being. She oversees the scientific Working Groups and coordinates NCEAS resources to support their success. LeeAnne also serves as the Deputy Director for the SNAPP: Science for Nature and People Partnership with The Nature Conservancy and the Wildlife Conservation Society.

LeeAnne has more than 20 years of experience in strategic communications from working with computer scientists in the data management, high performance computing, and enterprise computing sectors of the technology industry. She was a very successful small business owner promoting water safety. She is a graduate of the Bren School of Environmental Science & Management at UC Santa Barbara and serves on the City of Santa Barbara Parks and Recreation Commission. She is a member of the Santa Barbara chapter of the National Association of Women in Communications.
