Institute for Energy Efficiency Announces Peter J. Frenkel Foundation Fellows

The Institute for Energy Efficiency announced today this year’s Peter J.
Frenkel Foundation fellows. This award
is made possible through the generous support of The Peter J. Frenkel
foundation and is granted to two advanced doctoral candidates in recognition of
their outstanding research contributions to the field of energy efficiency.
Introducing the 2012-2013 Peter J. Frenkel Foundation Fellows:
Mingzhi Lu
Electronics and Photonics Solutions Group
Mingzhi Lu is a PhD candidate in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department. He is completing his dissertation on the use of optical phase-locked loops in coherent optical receivers under the supervision of Professor Larry Coldren.
Chris Takacs
Production and Storage Solutions Group
Chris Takacs is a candidate in the Physics Department. His dissertation is on long-range organic photovoltaics and is being completed under the supervision of Professor Alan Heeger.
