Institute for Energy Efficiency Announces 2013-2014 Peter J. Frenkel Foundation Fellows

The Institute for Energy Efficiency announced today this year’s Peter J. Frenkel Foundation fellows. This award is made possible through the generous support of The Peter J. Frenkel Foundation and is granted to two advanced doctoral candidates in recognition of their outstanding research contributions to the field of energy efficiency.

Introducing the 2013-2014 Peter J. Frenkel Foundation Fellows:

Ben CurtinBen Curtin
Electronics and Photonics Solutions Group

Ben Curtin is a PhD candidate in the Electrical & Computer Engineering Department. His dissertation is on the use of silicon nanowires in thermoelectric materials and is being completed under the supervision of Professor John Bowers.

 

 

Kristin DenaultKristin Denault
Lighting Solutions Group

Kristin Denault is a PhD candidate in the Materials Department. Her dissertation is on inorganic phosphors for solid state white lighting applications and is being completed under the supervision of Professor Ram Seshadri.
