Video: GE’s Smart Grid Lab

GE’s Juan de Bedout gives a tour of the smart grid system from generation to distribution to consumption. The smart grid would allow large appliances to only run during off-peak times when electricity is the cheapest, saving the consumer money and allowing the utility companies not to turn on additional power plants usually needed during peak hours.
