Light Emitting Diode (LED) technologies are a more favorable alternative to conventional lighting sources. They last 100 times as long as incandescent, have no glass or filaments, use 90% less energy, are non-toxic, and convert significantly less energy to heat. LEDs have a theoretical efficiency of 90% and an actual efficiency of 25-60%.
