There are lots of early technologies that are never adopted. The customer sees the standards and incentives of a technology, but never observes the research, assessment, and case study back work that is implemented before a technology is released. The standards and research bodies need to work together to set the next generation of standards based on the available technology and understand the key driver for consumer energy use is comfort and health, not energy efficiency.
