Energy storage technological advancements are not moving forward at a very fast rate. Lithium ion technology is the most attractive technology. The next generation of batteries is a sustainable, safe, high-energy battery. This ideal battery would have a low life cycle cost and minimum environmental footprint. There are promising methods of making this next generation battery by using old chemical methods of using oxocarbons to make a battery from organic materials.
