First Solar to Roll Out Power Plants for Southern California Edison

First Solar Inc. will build two solar power plants totaling 550 megawatts for Southern California Edison in a deal the companies signed Monday.
Tempe-based First Solar (Nasdaq:FSLR) will build a 250-megawatt plant near Desert Center, Calif., and a 300-megawatt plant in northeastern San Bernardino County, Calif.
Financial details were not released, but the deal includes First Solar building and operating the plants and selling the power to SCE under a 20-year contract.
