Data centers cooling systems are often set to peak load even when they are not needed, wasting energy during off peak loads. Servers are needed in a predictable rate, which can be exploited to put servers in a low power state when they are not needed. By thinking holistically like this, companies can optimize workload, performance, and energy use.
